Message Analytics: Your Personal Guide to Understanding Campaign Insights

Message Analytics: Your Personal Guide to Understanding Campaign Insights

Message Analytics is a dynamic feature designed for you to effortlessly track and analyze statistics across various messaging platforms, including Email, SMS, and WhatsApp. This guide is tailored to help you navigate and maximize the benefits of the Message Analytics feature.

1. How to Access Message Analytics

Getting Started: To dive into Message Analytics, simply click on the Analytics dropdown in the top left corner of your interface. From there, select 'Message Analytics'.

Choosing Your Campaign: For analytics specific to a campaign, select your desired campaign from the dropdown menu.

2. Navigating the Analytics Table

After selecting a campaign, a detailed table will display all the messages sent, providing you with a comprehensive overview.

1. Columns in the table:

1. Subject: Displays the subject of each message. For SMS, the first 20 characters of the template body are shown, and for WhatsApp, the template name is displayed.

2. Date: Indicates the date when the messages were sent.

3. Time: Shows the time of message dispatch.

4. Recipient Type: Categorizes messages into groups like “Donors”, “Ambassadors”, “Communities”, “Countries”, or “All”.

5. Recipients: Number of messages sent, with an expandable option for detailed recipient data.

Upon expanding the 'Recipients' section, you'll find several tabs that make it easy to sort and view detailed information about each recipient. These tabs include:

Recipients: Shows all recipients of the message.

Opened: Lists recipients who have opened the message.

Didn’t Open: Displays recipients who have yet to open the message.

Clicked: Highlights recipients who clicked on a link in the message.

In addition to the recipient's name, these tabs will also provide you with the time and date when the message was opened, as well as contact details like email addresses and phone numbers, all organized in an easy-to-read table format.

6. Sent Via: Type of message sent (Email, SMS, or WhatsApp).

7. Opens: Number of messages opened and read.

8. Open Rate: Percentage of users who opened the messages.

9. Clicks: (Emails only) Number of clicks on links within the messages.

10. Click Rate: (Emails only) Percentage of users who clicked on links.

2. Filter the information

You can easily filter the information in the table to focus on specific groups of recipients or certain time periods:

  1. Filter by Recipient Type: Use the “Recipient Type” dropdown to view messages sent to particular groups like “Donors”, “Ambassadors”, “Communities”, “Countries”, or choose “All” to see every message. This dropdown is shown below the table.

When you first select a campaign, the table will show all results. You can then refine these results by selecting a specific recipient type from the dropdown.
  1. Filter by Date Range: Next to the “Recipient Type” dropdown, there's a date picker tool. This lets you filter results for messages sent within a specific date or range of dates.

Simply select the date or date range you're interested in, and the table will update to show only the messages sent during that time.

Here are some additional key points to help you make the most of the Message Analytics dashboard:
  1. Search Functionality: There's a search field within the dashboard that allows you to quickly find specific information. This search function is limited to the “Subject” column, helping you locate messages by their subject lines.

  1. Availability of the Recipient Type Filter: The “Recipient Type” dropdown, which lets you filter messages by recipient categories like “Donors” or “Ambassadors”, becomes available only after you have selected a specific campaign.

Data Specifics for Different Message Types:

  1. Emails: The “Clicks” and “Click rate” data are relevant and available only for email messages.

  2. SMS: For SMS messages, the “Opens”, “Open rate”, “Clicks”, and “Click rate” will always show as 0%. This is because these metrics do not apply to SMS messages.

  3. WhatsApp: For WhatsApp messages, the “Opens”, “Open rate”, “Clicks”, and “Click rate” will always show as 0%. This is because these metrics do not apply to W messages.

These additional details are designed to enhance your experience and understanding of the Message Analytics dashboard, ensuring you get the most relevant and useful information for your messaging campaigns.
