About P.E.F
PEF was established in 1922 to enable the direct distribution of funds to selected and approved charitable organizations in Israel. PEF invites gifts, bequests, and contributions for specific purposes and institutions. As specifically requested by contributors.
PEF is a tax-exempt public charity, not a private foundation, under Code 501(c)(3). You can use your PEF account to accept US donations for your campaign. when connecting to PEF’s Stripe account you will be able to provide tax receipts for your US donors.
Fees
STRIPE FEES: 2.2% + 0.30c (3.5% Amex, +1% for non US cards)
Aside from Stripe fees, there are no additional fees for the actual campaign but there IS an initial registration fee to sign up with PEF.
This fee is paid directly to PEF.
Process
Before campaign
- To create an account with PEF please contact Geoffrey Stern at gstern@pefisrael.org
- When you get approved - your organization name will appear on their approved list and on the PEF website.
- CauseMatch will get approval from PEF to connect the account to your campaign page.
After Campaign
PEF will transfer the money to your bank account. Please contact them for further details and questions.
Important
- It takes a significant amount of time (around 3 months) to create an account with PEF so this is NOT an option unless your campaign is a few months away or you have an existing account with them.
- If you are registered with PEF, the processing time is 2-3 business days.
- It may take a couple of weeks (and, in some cases, longer) to receive the money from PEF, Please keep this in mind.
- P.E.F is a completely separate organization to CauseMatch and the agreement is directly with them. However, We at CauseMatch are happy to advise and assist.
- CauseMatch provides donation information to PEF promptly after campaigns and monthly for donate pages, but we are not in control of PEF's distribution schedule to you of the donations to your campaign and/or donate page. Please confirm this with them directly for your organization.
