Donation Receipts
Overview
CauseMatch automatically sends a proof-of-donation after a donation has been made. The text is customizable and often referred to as a simple "Thank You" email.
You can add and remove social media links, logos, signatures, etc. In order for the receipt to be tax-deductible, please see below.
Tax Receipts
CauseMatch
will automatically send out tax receipts on your behalf if you are a
registered nonprofit or are using a fiscal sponsor. We will need your
EIN/Tax ID to set this up.
In order for a tax receipt to be issued to the donor, the money needs to be received in the country from which the receipt is issued.
ie: USD in America, CAD in Canada, ILS in Israel.
Each receipt has a UNIQUE receipt number issued when it sent for tax purposes.
NOTE FOR OFFLINE DONATIONS: We will send donors (who are input through the back end as offline) an automatic "Thank You" email. However, since CauseMatch cannot verify the funds have reached you, you are responsible for issuing a tax receipt after the campaign.
All Israeli processors (like Yaadpay) and fiscal sponsors issue their OWN tax receipt.
CauseMatch will send an automatic 'Thank you' outlining the date and amount. The processor/fiscal sponsor will send the official tax document to your donors within 24 hours.
You need to set up the official receipts with the Israeli credit card processor.

Speak to an accountant for the latest laws and regulations regarding tax-deductible donations.
Here is an example tax-receipt for Canadian, CAD donations. It includes:
- Donor Name
- Date
- Donation Amount
- Non-profit name and Tax ID (CRA)
- Signature of individual authorized to acknowledge gifts
- A unique receipt number issued when sent
