How to Set Up Products and Giving Levels

How to Set Up Products and Giving Levels

Overview

The Products tab in the CauseMatch Dashboard is where you set up the donation options that donors can choose from on your campaign page. This includes named giving levels (called perks or products), suggested donation amounts, and shopping cart settings. A well-configured Products tab makes it easier for donors to select a giving level that resonates with them and complete their donation quickly.

Who Can Use This?

This feature is available to users with the Client or Client Admin role.

Before You Begin

  • Your campaign has been created and the Start, Goals, and Dates tabs are complete (see: Creating a New Campaign)

  • You have decided on your giving levels: the donation amounts and names you want to offer (e.g., Bronze Supporter: $36, Silver Supporter: $100, Gold Supporter: $360)

  • If you plan to offer recurring/monthly donations, confirm the number of months with your team before setting up

Step-by-Step Guide

To access the Products tab:

 1. Log in to your
CauseMatch Dashboard
2. Navigate to
Campaigns and open your campaign
3. Click the
Products tab

Section 1: Product Management Settings

This section controls how donors interact with your products during the checkout process. It is only visible for campaigns using the Modern page design.
This section has two toggles that are always visible:
  • Enable shopping cart: allows donors to add multiple products to a cart before checking out, similar to an online store

  • Enable Additional Donation Input: allows donors to enter a custom donation amount on top of their selected products. This option is always visible but only takes effect when the shopping cart is also enabled

Info

Note: If your campaign is a straightforward fundraiser with a single donation form, you do not need to enable the shopping cart. It is best suited for campaigns offering multiple distinct products that donors may want to combine.

When Enable shopping cart is toggled on, two additional sections appear:

Payment Modes:

  • Single payments: allows donors to make a one-time donation

  • Monthly payments: allows donors to set up a recurring monthly donation

Toggle each payment mode on or off depending on what your campaign supports. At least one must be enabled.

Subscription Settings (appears when Monthly payments is also enabled):

  • Set the Monthly Payments Duration: the fixed number of months the recurring donation will run (e.g., 12 months)

  • All products in the campaign must share the same subscription duration

General Draw is a raffle feature in CauseMatch that allows for a single, weighted drawing at the campaign level. It is designed for campaigns that offer a grand prize where entries are pooled from multiple different products into one shared drawing.

Click Save when done. A confirmation pop-up will appear to confirm your changes have been saved successfully.

Section 2: Creating a Product / Giving Level

Click Add New Product to create your first giving level. A dialog with the same title will open.
At the top of the dialog, before the tabs, you will see a header bar with three controls:
  • Enabled toggle: controls whether this product is active and visible on your campaign page. Leave this on unless you want to create the product but not show it yet

  • Enable Raffle: When switched on for a specific perk, it activates raffle functionality for that item and adds a Draw Winner button to its row in the products grid.

  • Language dropdown: if your campaign supports multiple languages, use this to switch between language versions and fill in the name and description for each

  • Highlight Color:
a color picker to set a custom accent color for this product’s card on the campaign page

Content & Payment tab:

This tab is split into two columns, content on the left and payment settings on the right.

Content (left side):

  • Name (required): the name donors will see on your campaign page (e.g., Bronze Supporter, Family Package, Tikkun Olam Circle). Use the Show toggle next to the field to control whether the name is displayed on the campaign page

  • Description (optional): describe the impact of this giving level or what the donor receives. Use the Show toggle to control whether the description is displayed

  • Logo (optional): upload an image to represent this giving level

  • Enable Raffle: This toggle located within the Products tab of your campaign dashboard. This feature allows you to run weighted drawings for individual items rather than a campaign-wide pool.

Payment (right side):

  • Single Donation: check this box to enable one-time donations for this product, then enter the Amount

  • Recurring Donation: check this box to enable monthly donations for this product, then enter the Recurring Amount and set the Duration (number of months, e.g., 12)

  • Default: if both Single and Recurring are enabled, use the radio buttons that appear to set which option is pre-selected for donors by default

You can enable one or both payment types on the same product.

Inventory tab:

This tab controls stock levels and how your product is displayed when units run out.

  • Multiple units per purchase: toggle on to allow a single donor to purchase more than one unit of this product in one transaction

  • Limit per order: toggle on to cap how many units a donor can purchase in a single order, then enter the maximum number allowed

  • Track inventory: toggle on to set a total stock quantity for this product, then enter the number in the In Stock field. Once all units are sold, the product will no longer be available for selection

  • Grey out when sold out: toggle on to display the product as greyed out on the campaign page when stock runs out, rather than hiding it entirely

  • Show units sold: toggle on to display how many units of this product have been purchased on the campaign page

  • Show units remaining: toggle on to display how many units are left in stock on the campaign page

IdeaTip: Showing units sold and units remaining creates urgency. Donors are more likely to act when they can see a limited number of spots left.

Click Save to add the product to your campaign.

Idea

Tip: Create a range of giving levels to appeal to donors at different budget levels. Three to five well-named tiers (e.g., $36, $100, $360, $1,000) tend to perform best, providing enough variety without overwhelming donors.

Section 3: Managing Your Products

Once products are created, they appear in the Products Grid. The grid shows the following columns for each product: Order, ID, Logo, Product Name, Amount, Payment Modes, Duration (months), In Stock, Amount Sold, and Actions.
From the grid you can:
  • Reorder: use the up/down arrows in the Order column to change the sequence products appear on your campaign page

  • Hide / Show: use the toggle in the Hidden column to temporarily hide a product without deleting it. Hidden products are not visible to donors

  • Edit: click the Edit button in the Actions column to update any product details

  • Delete: click the ⋮ (more options) button in the Actions column and select Delete to permanently remove a product

IdeaTip: If a giving level has sold out or is no longer available, use the Hidden toggle rather than deleting it. This preserves the product’s history while removing it from donor view.

If you have not uploaded individual logos for each perk, toggle on Use Organization logo as default Perk logo. Your organization logo will automatically be used for any perk that does not have its own image.

Section 5: Suggested Amounts

Suggested amounts are preset donation values that appear as quick-select buttons on your checkout page. They make it easier for donors to choose an amount without having to type one in manually.
  1. Toggle on Suggested Amounts
  2. Enter up to 5 amounts in the fields that appear (e.g., 36, 72, 180, 360, 1000)

  3. Click Add Amount to add additional fields if needed

  4. To remove an amount, click the remove icon next to it

NotesNote: Suggested amounts and perks serve different purposes. Perks are named giving levels with descriptions and images. Suggested amounts are simple quick-select dollar values on the checkout page. You can use both together on the same campaign.

Click Save when done. A confirmation pop-up will appear to confirm your changes have been saved successfully.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Name your giving levels meaningfully. Names like “Friend”, “Champion”, or “Founding Member” resonate more with donors than generic labels like “Tier 1” or “$100 Level”.

  • Add descriptions to every perk. Even a single sentence explaining the impact (e.g., “Your gift of $180 provides school supplies for 3 students”) significantly increases donor confidence and conversion.

  • Keep the number of perks manageable. Too many options can cause decision fatigue. Three to five giving levels is the sweet spot for most campaigns.

  • Use the Hidden toggle strategically. If a giving level has a limited quantity, hide it once it’s full rather than deleting it.

  • Align recurring amounts with single amounts. If you offer both payment types, a common approach is to set the monthly amount to roughly 10% of the single donation amount (e.g., $180 single / $18 monthly).

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I add or edit perks after my campaign is live? A: Yes. You can add, edit, hide, or reorder perks at any time. Changes to a live campaign will be marked as “Unpublished Changes” and will need to be resubmitted for review before appearing on your live page.

Q: What is the difference between a perk and a suggested amount? A: Perks are named giving levels with descriptions and optional images that donors can select directly (e.g., “Gold Supporter ($500)”). Suggested amounts are simple preset dollar values that appear as quick-select buttons on the checkout page. Both can be used together.

Q: Can I offer both one-time and recurring donations on the same perk? A: Yes. On the Content & Payment tab when creating or editing a perk, select Both as the payment type. Donors will then be able to choose between a one-time or recurring donation for that giving level.

Q: Do I need to enable the shopping cart? A: Not for most campaigns. The shopping cart is best suited for campaigns with multiple distinct products that donors might want to purchase together. For a standard fundraising campaign, leave it off.

Q: Can I limit how many of a giving level are available? A: Yes. In the perk editor, go to the Inventory tab and enter a number in the In Stock field. Once that number of perks is sold, the perk will no longer be available for selection. You can also manually hide it using the Hidden toggle in the Products grid.

Q: The Monthly payments option is not available in Product Management Settings. Why? A: Monthly payments must first be enabled at the payment gateway level in the Checkout tab. If you do not see the option, check your Checkout tab configuration or contact CauseMatch support.

Q: Can I reorder perks after donors have already purchased them? A: Yes. Reordering perks only changes the display order on your campaign page; it does not affect existing donations or purchases.
