How to Design Your Campaign Page

How to Design Your Campaign Page

Overview

The Design tab in the CauseMatch Dashboard allows you to customize how your campaign page looks to donors. From banner images and campaign content to progress bars and social sharing, this tab gives you full control over your campaign’s visual presentation. A well-designed campaign page builds trust and encourages donors to give.

Who Can Use This?

This feature is available to users with the Client or Client Admin role.

Before You Begin

  • Your campaign has been created and the Start, Goals, and Dates tabs are complete (see: Creating a New Campaign)

  • Your organization logo is ready to upload (recommended: 180 x 180px)

  • Your campaign banner images are ready:

  • Desktop banner: 1366 x 360px

  • Mobile banner: 540 x 480px

  • Your Social Media Image is ready. This is mandatory; it is the image that appears everywhere your campaign link is shared (social media, messaging apps, emails). Requirements:

  • Dimensions: 720 x 390px

  • File size: under 300KB

Step-by-Step Guide

To access the Design tab:

1. Log in to your CauseMatch Dashboard
2. Navigate to Campaigns and open your campaign
3. Click the Design tab

The Design tab is organized into collapsible sections on the left. Click any section heading to expand or collapse it. A live preview panel on the right side of the screen updates in real time as you make changes; no need to save first to see the effect.

The live preview has a viewport toggle at the top: - Desktop View (monitor icon): shows the campaign as it appears on a desktop browser - Mobile View (phone icon): shows the campaign inside a phone frame so you can check the mobile layout

Section 1: Header Banner

The header banner is the first visual element donors see when they land on your campaign page.

To add banner images: 1. Click the upload area under Desktop Banner Image and select your image (recommended: 1366 x 360px) 2. Click the upload area under Mobile Banner Image and select your image (recommended: 540 x 480px) 3. To add a slideshow, upload multiple images; they will rotate automatically on the campaign page Enable the 'Add text under header banner' toggle bar: Enable this option to add text under the header banner.

To use a video instead of images: 1. Toggle on Banner Video 2. Enter the Video URL 3. Enter the Width and Height of the video (use 16:9 ratio for best results, e.g. 1280 x 720) 4. Toggle Autoplay and Loop on or off as preferred

IdeaTip: Videos create a more engaging first impression but may load slower on mobile connections. Always test your campaign page on both desktop and mobile before submitting for review.

Click Save when done. A confirmation pop-up will appear to confirm your changes have been saved successfully.

Section 2: Timer & Progress

This section controls what donors see in terms of campaign countdown and fundraising progress.

Toggle each element on or off based on what you want to show:

  • Show Clock: displays a countdown graphic showing time remaining in the campaign

  • Show Time: displays a live countdown in days, hours, minutes, and seconds

  • Show Progress Bar: shows a visual bar indicating how close the campaign is to its goal

  • Show Goal Amount: displays your total fundraising target

  • Show Raised Amount: displays the current total amount raised

IdeaTip: Showing the progress bar and raised amount together creates urgency and social proof. Donors are more likely to give when they can see how close the campaign is to its goal. These are recommended for all campaigns.

Click Save when done.

Section 3: Donation Section

This section controls the donation call-to-action area on your campaign page.

  • Show Donate Area: toggle this on to display the Donate Now button on your campaign page. This should be turned on for all campaigns.

  • Add Donation Field Text: toggle on to add a short message below the Donate Now button. Use the rich text editor to write and format your message.

Offline payment options:

If your campaign accepts donations by check or bank transfer, you can display instructions for donors directly on the campaign page:

  • Toggle on Give by Check, then:

  • Enter a label for the button (e.g., Give by Check)

  • Use the rich text editor to write instructions for donors (e.g., payable to, mailing address)

  • Toggle on Give by Bank Transfer, then:

  • Enter a label for the button (e.g., Give by Bank Transfer)

  • Use the rich text editor to write bank transfer instructions

Click Save when done.

Section 4: Middle Section

Add a message or story that appears in the middle of your campaign page, between the header and body sections.

  1. Toggle on Add text in the middle of the page

  2. Use the rich text editor to write your content. This is a great place for your campaign story, mission statement, or a compelling reason to give.

Click Save when done.

Section 5: Body Section

The body section adds a secondary banner image to your campaign page, with the option to add text above and below it.

  1. Upload a Desktop Body Banner (recommended: 1366 x 200px)

  2. Upload a Mobile Body Banner (recommended: 540 x 480px)

  3. Toggle on Add text above body banner to add content above the image

  4. Toggle on Add text under body banner to add content below the image

  5. Use the rich text editors to write the content for each section

Click Save when done.

Section 6: Recent Donors (RDP)

The Recent Donors section appears on your campaign page and shows a live list of donors who have contributed.

  • Upload your Organization Logo (recommended: 180 x 180px), which appears alongside the donor list

  • Use the About Campaign rich text editor to write a description that appears in the About tab on your campaign page

  • Show recent donors section

  • Default Tab

Notes

Note: If you leave the About Campaign text empty, the About tab will not be shown on your campaign page.

Click Save when done.

Section 7: Share

Adds social media share buttons to your campaign page and the post-donation thank-you page, making it easy for donors to spread the word.

  1. Toggle on Show Share Buttons

  2. Upload your Social Media Image (required: 720 x 390px, under 300KB). This image appears automatically when your campaign link is shared on platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, or WhatsApp.

Info

Important: The social media image is mandatory. It is the image that appears everywhere your campaign link is shared: on social media, in messaging apps, and in emails. Make sure it is exactly 720 x 390px and under 300KB in file size. An incorrectly sized or missing image will result in a poor or broken preview when your link is shared.

Idea

Tip: Use an image that includes your organization’s name or logo and a clear visual related to your campaign. This significantly improves click-through rates when donors share your link.

Click Save when done.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use the live preview. The preview panel on the right updates as you edit. Use it constantly to see how your page will look to donors before saving.

  • Always upload the social media image. This is mandatory and affects how your campaign appears every time a link is shared. Use the correct dimensions (720 x 390px) and keep the file size under 300KB.

  • Always upload both desktop and mobile banners. Many donors give on mobile devices. A page with no mobile banner will look incomplete.

  • Keep your middle section text concise. Donors scan campaign pages quickly. A short, compelling paragraph is more effective than a long block of text.

  • Test on multiple devices. After saving, open your campaign preview on both a desktop browser and a mobile device to make sure everything looks right.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I change the design after my campaign is approved and live? A: Yes. You can update the Design tab at any time. However, changes made to a live campaign will be marked as “Unpublished Changes” and will need to be resubmitted for review before they appear on your live page.

Q: My banner image looks stretched or cropped. What should I do? A: Make sure you are uploading images at the recommended dimensions (desktop: 1366 x 360px, mobile: 540 x 480px). Images that are a different size or aspect ratio may appear cropped or stretched.

Q: Can I use a video and images at the same time for the banner? A: No The header banner supports either a video or images, not both at the same time. Toggle on Banner Video to use a video, or leave it off to use images.

Q: What is the social media image used for? A: When someone shares your campaign link on social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, or LinkedIn, the social media image is automatically displayed as the preview image for the link. It is mandatory; every campaign must have one. Use dimensions of 720 x 390px and keep the file size under 300KB.

Q: My social media image is not showing correctly when the link is shared. Why? A: This is usually caused by an incorrect image size or a file that exceeds 300KB. Make sure your image is exactly 720 x 390px and under 300KB. If the issue persists, contact CauseMatch support.

Q: I don’t see the color or page design options. Why? A: Color customization and page design selection are available to admin level users. If you need to change these settings, reach out to Support.

Q: How do I preview my campaign page before submitting for review? A: Use the live preview panel on the right side of the Design tab while editing. You can also click the Preview button on your campaign overview page to see the full campaign page as donors will see it.
