The Campaign Editor is where you configure and manage every aspect of your fundraising campaign. It is organized into six tabs (each covering a different part of your campaign setup) so you can update your settings, design, products, and checkout in one place. Changes are saved as a draft and only go live when you publish them.
This feature is available to users with the Client or Client Admin role. Some fields within individual tabs are restricted to Client Admins only; those are noted in each tab’s dedicated article.
Your campaign has already been created (see: Creating a New Campaign)
You know which section of your campaign you want to update
To open the Campaign Editor:
Log in to your CauseMatch Dashboard
In the left navigation, click All Campaigns
In the campaign list, locate your campaign and click the Edit(pencil) icon in the Actions column
The Campaign Editor opens on the Start tab.
The editor has four main areas:
Page selector (top left): shows which campaign page you are currently editing. If your campaign has multiple language pages, you can switch between them here.
Tab bar: six tabs across the top let you navigate to each section of your campaign.
Preview / View button (top right, in the header): opens your campaign page in a new browser tab. Shows Preview while the campaign is unpublished, and View once it is live. Use this to see exactly how your page looks to donors at any point.
Action buttons(bottom of each tab): save, publish, or move between tabs.
The editor is divided into six tabs. Click any tab at any time; switching tabs does not discard your unsaved changes on the current tab.
Start | Campaign name, organization name, language, and page URL |
Each tab has its own detailed article. See Related Articles below for links.
Note: The Products tab is not available for raffle campaigns. If your campaign is a raffle, the Products tab will not appear in the tab bar. Each tab has action buttons at the bottom:
Previous: navigate to the previous tab
Next: navigate to the next tab. If you have unsaved changes, a prompt will ask: “You have unsaved changes”. Choose Save and Proceed to save before continuing, or Proceed without Saving to skip saving.
Save as Draft: saves all current changes without making them live. Use this to preserve work in progress.
Publish / review button (split button, bottom right): the label changes based on your campaign’s current status: Send for Review, Publish Campaign, Publish Changes, or Unpublish Campaign. Click the dropdown arrow (▾) beside it to reveal additional options including Save as Draft.
New campaigns must go through a review process before they can go live.
Complete your campaign setup across all tabs
At the bottom of any tab, click Send for Review
A Send for Review Confirmation dialog will appear with a checklist of items to verify:
Start tab: organization name is correct
Goals tab: goal amount and currency are set
Checkout tab: currencies, gateways, and receipts are configured
Confirm that the checklist items are complete and click My page is ready. Please review
After submitting, the campaign shows a Waiting for Review status badge in the campaigns list. The CauseMatch team will review your page and either approve it for publishing or return it with a Requested Changes status.
Note: Your campaign will not be accessible to donors until you receive confirmation from the CauseMatch team and publish the page. Do not share the campaign link before then.If your campaign is already published and you make edits:
Make your changes across any tabs
Click Publish Changes to save and push all updates live immediately
If you want to save your edits without making them live yet, click the dropdown arrow (▾) beside Publish Changes and select Save as Draft instead.Click Unpublish Campaign
A confirmation dialog appears: “Are you sure you want to unpublish the campaign? The page will no longer be accessible to donors.”
Click Confirm
The campaign page is immediately taken offline. You can republish it at any time by returning to the Campaign Editor and clicking Publish Changes.
Save often. Click Save as Draft on each tab before moving to the next, especially when working on Design or Checkout settings.
Publish changes in one go. You can make updates across multiple tabs before publishing. When you’re done, click Publish Changes once to push all updates live at the same time.
Complete the review checklist before submitting. The Send for Review dialog shows the most common items the CauseMatch team checks. Address these before submitting to avoid a “Requested Changes” response and second round of review.
Watch for the Unpublished Changes badge. After saving a draft on a live campaign, a blue dot appears next to your campaign in the campaigns list. This reminds you that changes are pending and not yet live.
Switching pages on multi-language campaigns. Use the page selector at the top left to edit each language page separately. Each page has its own content, design, and payment configuration.
Q: Can I edit my campaign while it is live? A: Yes. You can update any tab at any time. Your changes are saved as a draft and only go live when you click Publish Changes, so the donor-facing page is not affected until you publish.
Q: I don’t see a “Publish Campaign” button, only “Send for Review”. Why? A: New campaigns require a CauseMatch review before going live. Click Send for Review, complete the checklist, and submit. Once approved, you will be able to publish the campaign.
Q: Can I navigate between tabs without losing unsaved changes? A: Yes. Switching tabs does not discard your changes. The Next button will prompt you to save if there are unsaved changes. Navigating entirely away from the Campaign Editor (for example, clicking Donations in the left menu) will show an unsaved changes warning.
Q: How do I know if my live campaign has unpublished changes? A: A blue dot (Unpublished Changes) appears next to the campaign in the campaigns list. Inside the editor, the publish button will say Publish Changes instead of Unpublish Campaign.
Q: The Products tab is missing from the tab bar. Where did it go? A: The Products tab is only available for standard campaigns. Raffle campaigns do not have a Products tab, so it is hidden from the tab bar when your campaign type is set to raffle.
Q: How do I add a second language page to my campaign? A: Click the + icon in the page selector at the top left of the Campaign Editor and select a language for the new page. Each page can have its own content, design, and payment settings configured independently.
