Export a Donation Report

Export a Donation Report

This article explains how to export donation data from the CauseMatch dashboard as a CSV (spreadsheet) file. There are three types of exports available: all donations, deleted donations, and unique donors. Use these reports for accounting, bookkeeping, or planning future fundraising campaigns.

How to Export a Donation Report

Step 1: Log in to your CauseMatch dashboard using your username and password.

Step 2: Navigate to All Donations. From the left-hand menu, click Campaigns, then click Donations, and select All Donations.

Step 3: Select your campaign. From the "Select campaign" dropdown at the top of the page, choose the campaign you want to export data for.

Step 4: Choose your export type. Click the "Select export" button. A dropdown will appear with three options — choose the one that matches your needs (see export types below).

Export Types Explained

Donations Export: Downloads a CSV file containing every individual donation made on the selected campaign page. Each donation appears as a separate row, including cases where a single donor gave to multiple ambassadors.
Deleted Donations Export: Downloads a CSV file containing all donations that have been deleted from the campaign. Use this for audit or recovery purposes.

Donors Export: Downloads a CSV file showing each unique donor once, regardless of how many donations they made. This is different from the Donations Export — if a donor gave to 2 or more ambassadors, the Donations Export would show them across 2 or more rows, while the Donors Export consolidates them into a single row. Note: the Donors Export does not list which ambassadors each donation was attributed to.

Which Export Should I Use?

Use the Donations Export to see every individual transaction in detail. Use the Deleted Donations Export to find or audit removed donations. Use the Donors Export to get a deduplicated list of donors with no repeated rows.
