Match My Gift Feature
Match My Gift feature is a way of engaging donors more with the fundraising process and make them active members of the campaign beyond their individual donation. MMG will add donor engagement, as it has a competitive and a social status element to it as donors who will be ‘matched’ will have a new component on their tile.
Basic functionality is as follows: A potential donor can match the donation of a particular donor by clicking the MMG button and he will be directed to the checkout popup with the amount already pre-filled. Once the donor completes the donation he will receive the regular thank you email and:
The donor tile will be updated with a x1 to indicate that this donor has been matched.
The donor will receive a notification to his email that his donation was matched by XXX.
Here are the Highlights:
The donor tile will be updated with a x1 near the trophy Icon, to indicate that this donor has been matched.
Donor Personal Fundraising Link
As we would like to expand donor engagement with active fundraising, a follow-up to Match My Gift is generating a personal fundraising link for each donor after the donation is complete, this way donors can share this link with their network and get more donations associated with them.
The personal fundraising link will be shown in the thank you page and sent as part of the Thank you email (a dedicated merge tag for it). Once somebody clicks the link, they can donate and that donation will be associated with the original donor. For a campaign with both “Match My Gift” and “Personal Fundraising Link” features enabled, the trophy icon for a donation that was both matched by a donor and a donation made via its personal link, on the campaign page the tile would look like:
